Mindful Relaxation

As winter turns into spring time and there are more hours in the day for work and playtime, we must all be mindful to make space for mindful relaxation.

What is mindful relaxation? It is active rest, where you set time aside to rest and relax with the purpose and intention of lowering stress, lifting any pressure or time-constraint put upon you, and clear your mind of any negativity, thoughts, or "to-dos."

Ironically, putting active resting into your to-do list will actually help you lower stress, high-blood pressure, and lower anxiety. The more we have going on and the more we have to do and tend to, the more we tense up mentally, physically, and spiritually. Eventually, we wear ourselves out.

Taking a moment (I would say set aside 30 minutes or so) to just relax and rest and reflect will help keep you calm and balanced.

Try it! I've been doing this for the past few months and it's helped me set better boundaries for myself and increased my self-awareness where it pertains to stress. I feel less overwhelmed, mentally healthier, and more productive.

I hope this helps. Thanks for reading my blog!
