Cool to Be Kind

I have a nice little wooden sign on my desk that says "COOL TO BE KIND." The sign and this blog post is a gentle reminder daily to be the kindest person we can be.

We all have our cranky days, but have you ever noticed when you're feeling joyful and exuberant that joy outwards, it makes other people receive and reciprocate it?

Whether it's helping an elder across the street, offering to share your umbrella on a rainy day, leaving a waiter a tip, or opening the door/elevator for someone, we can all be kind and make a difference in our day and others day.

I started a club in middle school, the cattiest era of my life just right behind high school called "The Random Acts of Kindness Club" where members are expected to record one nice thing they did per week and share it in our meetings.

It was a sort of therapy and support group in a sense, and a reminder to ourselves that no matter what age we are or at what stage of our lives we are, and no matter what has happened to us, we all have the capacity to be kind.

Surround yourself with other kind people and let that energy bounce off of one another. You will feel the difference. Eliminate the toxins and the toxic people.

So go forward your day with peace and kindness!

Thank you for reading my blog!
